Music from the Heart

Trouble Pilgrims - The Old Days (single)

Formed in 2013 with the intention of continuing the legacy of The Radiators from Space but with a main focus on recording and performing brand new material the band have certainly lived up to that mantra. To date Trouble Pilgrims have released three singles, the much-lauded double A side debut of Animal Gang Blues c/w Who Do You Love?  which was followed in 2015 by Instant Polaroid (The Man on The Bridge). The band recorded their debut album over the summer of 2017 and the resulting work ‘Dark Shadows and Rust’ received its worldwide release to widespread acclaim on Chiswick Records via Ace on 27th October 2017 with a limited edition 180g red vinyl version released in January 2018.

June of this year the band penned a deal with independent label ‘Forever in Financial Arrears’ (FIFA Records) which was quickly followed by the release of the aforementioned ’21 Century Girl’, a single which caught the ear of DJs both at home and further afield. ‘The Old Days’ is the perfect lead into the forthcoming long player which was recorded in September 2020 at Hellfire Studios and completed during the COVID lockdown at Pete Holidai's newly constructed Pilgrim Sound studio.

On the live front the band have been prolific and have developed a reputation for delivering tight and exciting live shows which have included high profile special guest appearances with The Boomtown Rats and The Undertones amongst others. The band's self-financed and produced 'TV Special' an hour-long Dark Shadows and Rust "Live in Studio" was screened at the IFI Cinema on Thursday 21st March 2019.

‘The Old Days’ the 2nd single from the forthcoming album ‘Blood, Glass & Gasoline'. The album can be pre-ordered now on Vinyl, CD, and limited-edition Cassette.

"The Old Days" is a retro look at the past when the food tasted better, the water we swam in had no plastic! We loved to work hard and looked forward to payday on Friday when money and the weekend really meant something special” explains Tony St Ledger. “Before society became chained to technology and spied on or dare, I say killed by drones. Magical train journeys watching the ever-changing beautiful landscape drift past us outside before air travel was as cheap as chips! The Old Days shared times with friends and family when you could raise a glass and raise our hearts together by singing in pubs without being thrown out. I like the old days better!”

The opening guitar solo is truly mouth-watering. Dark atmospheric intro setting the tone for what's to come. And the track builds from there. Energetic piece with catchy hooks and hard hitting lyrics will make you press replay and discover more new things the more times you listen.

"some couldn't even read allright, they went to school to fight"
