Music from the Heart

Theo Fitzgibbon - Waterfall (single)

Dublin singer and songwriter Theo Fitzgibbon is releasing his debut single. He is no stranger to performing - he has played at every major gig venue in Dublin and was previously lead vocalist and songwriter for band League of Nation. He is now stepping out on his own and with this perfect radio tune he is announcing himself to the world!

After his time on the gig circuit, Fitzgibbon wanted to hone his craft and went to IMW in London to study music production. Following his time studying in London, Theo took a break from music to attend a treatment centre in Dublin to address some addiction issues. After taking the time and doing the work to change his life’s direction, Theo was ready to start putting all of his energy into his music career.

On the release of his debut single, Theo comments: “I am thrilled to be releasing my debut single . Waterfall is a tune I am really proud of, it’s what my music is all about: punchy, catchy music with a belter of a chorus and amazing production, in this case from the incredibly talented Marc Carolan.”

In his own words, Theo wants to write the kind of pop music that “people can sing when they’re having a few drinks in a kitchen somewhere at 4am”. Fitzgibbon likes to focus on crafting catchy, belting songs that make a huge impact. He has been hugely inspired by Noel Gallagher’s advice to write a f***ing chorus. Theo uses the classic line up of instruments to create these soaring tunes: drums, piano and of course, guitar.

The song was produced by Marc Carolan (Muse) and features Jake Curran (Guitarist, Niall Horan) Kev Corcoran (Keys, The Villagers) Rob Malone (Bass, The Villagers, David Gray). Starting with an atmospheric intro, the song later develops into a catchy sing-along where Fitzgibbon showcases his vocal abilities. Judging by the way he introduced himself to the world, his creations certainly have potential, the future lies in his hands.

"Maybe thats the way i am

Maybe i was born to lose somebody

I could never understand

Where did all the love that i need go"
