pMad - I in Power
Paul Dillon from Portumna, Co. Galway in Ireland is a solo artist professionally known as “pMad”. He is a singer and a songwriter who follows a path of introspection with a unique view of the world & what we are doing to ourselves and the planet. pMad's colorful mix of Gothic Rock, Indie and Post-Punk with a unique and interesting concept, his second album I in Power fllows the debut Who Whz Where What.
pMad has built a name for himself by creating dark tracks with deeper meaning. You feel the darkness instantly as the opening track Confession starts. Direct, razor sharp yrics try to warn us we only have one life and there are "no second chances" so it's time to live and let go of the negative, either people or things. The nearly orchestral arrangement, driven by the steady drumbeat, only intensifies the urgency of the message within.
"My life is worth living" from previously released single Down is another striking statement, cutting to the core. The song suggests you should live your life no matter what othrs say or think because you should not let anyone look down upon you just because you're not doing what they think is best. You're of course also entitled to failure and starting over.
Fire is an environmental warming that the clock is ticking and if we wanna continue living on this planet, we need to do something to protect it. Before it's too late and we all burn.
pMad's vocal delivery is truly unique. More spoken than sung, in combination with the powerful lines, this is darkness personified. And perhaps the artist's key to success. The listeners are reminded of the great musicians through history who used their craft to wake up people, focus on issues the society seemed (and sadly continues) to ignore or isn't keen to change the status quo.
