Music from the Heart

Patata (Shane Devlin) from Donegal, Ireland, is an open, honest and diverse singer/songwriter. His songs draw on raw emotion delivered through prism of folk, rock, pop and jazz influences, his soulful, mellow voice a perfect compliment to the innate musicality of his songs. In 2019, his debut single Valentine, released on Valentine's Day, reached no.7 in the Irish Daily Download Chart. 2020 will see the release of the debut album " Songs for the Silver Screen" which is due in the early summer. Marry Me is the first single from the album.

Marry Me has a full Irish rock band sound. The guitars dominate the arrangement, the solo in the middle of the song is especially worth highlighting. As the title suggests, the theme is romantic but not overromantic thankfully. Shane Devlin's vocal has a distinctive accent and he's not trying to hide it.

The lyrics show the happiness of a man who found his soulmate and is looking forward to spending the rest of his life with her, demolishing that cliché about a man being pushed into marriage and being affraid of losing his freedom.

The well-produced single feels like a taster where you find yourself wanting to hear more after this. Hopefully soon
