Paradox - Here Comes the Pain (single)

Cork based alternative rockers Paradox were formed in 1997 by brothers Pete Mac and Mike Mac. The early Paradox sound was heavily influenced by the Grunge Era of the 90's. Paradox have released 4 studio albums to date. Their debut album 'Circle of Growth' was recorded in Los Angeles in 2000 and released on a US label. Their second album 'Sacred' was recorded and released in 2004, 'Corporate Pollution' was released in 2011 and their latest album 'Chapters' released in 2015. Singer and songwriter Pete Mac also recorded and released a solo album in 2009 in Berlin, Germany. The new single 'Here Comes The Pain' was released in May 2019 with the band making a return to a more heavier sound. More new music is planned to be released this year.
Here Comes The Pain starts as every true heavy sound tune should - full force with everything the band has to offer. The title itself evokes the darkness and nothing really positive but that's all part of the genre. The overall sound may seem pretty old school to some, as if the band was reminiscing about their roots, trying to awake some of their early influences.
Recorded by Brian Casey at Wavefield Recording Studios, West Cork with Kieran O’Neill on drums.
Paradox haven't lost anything from their energy. More than twenty years and still going strong. A must-listen for all the heavy music fans out there. And if Nirvana comes to your mind after hearing the band's latest offering? You may not be that far from the truth. The spirit is undoubtedly there.
