Music from the Heart

Louis’s brand-new single ‘‘I Don’t Wanna Know’’  with an amazing music video directed by Gav Kelly, premiering the following week on YouTube. The song is the third release from his upcoming debut solo album, Louis has been working away feverishly with the amazing Peter Doherty (Kharma 45) and hopes to release it early next year.  

Louis found inspiration for the new single ‘’I Don’t Wanna Know’’ after the end of a relationship in 2019. He imagined what it would be like to bump into her years later and while he would be happy to see her and know that she’s well, he wouldn’t want to know too much. He imagined that to save his pain, it would be better to not know all the details of her new life. For this recording Louis and Peter took inspiration from Nick Drake and Ludovico Einaudi to create an emotional, cinematic soundscape that reflects the yearning themes of the song beautifully.

This deeply personal track and its melancholic melody immediately resonates with the listener. You can hear all the emotions in McTeggart's vocal and feel the pain despite it not being mentioned. McTeggart is singing from the deepest corners of his soul. The line "it's best to leave that part in a memory" summs up the message of this track. Past is the past and it's probably a good thing we cannot go back and change it. Of course, we all often wonder what could have been but it only causes heartache most of the time. So, be glad it happened and use the experience to move on.
