What comes to your mind when you hear the words" the final frontier" ? Probably remote and cold places like Alaska, untouched nature, darkness. These words can also mean the extreme limit of understanding or achievement in a particular area. The cover of Davie Furey's latest single certainly evokes the first option.
Lyrically, there's the eerie feeling of realization how appropriate the words are to current situation even though it obviouly wasn't written with that intention.
"You’re only getting one shot, so you better not blow it"
The whistling wind at the start of the song gives you the true sense of the cold and remoteness. Furey's vocal are echoing beautifully and the result is quite haunting. The track features the multi-talented Clare Sands on fiddle and it adds a fiery atmosphere to the composition.
